Vintage Lucite Hoop Earrings in Lime
Maker: Leetie Lovendale
We love these frosted hoop earrings. They re-purposed from vintage lucite parts and made into the best earrings for that perfect pop of color. Very lightweight!
About Leetie Lovendale: She started in the beaded jewelry world. She owned a bead store for over 20 years, taught herself jewelry making classes, and she even had a jewelry DIY book published. But the desire to start making jewelry again lead her back to what started her on her path to begin with. After stumbling upon 40,000 lbs of old plastic parts, left behind by the jewelry makers of the early 80's, she envisioned a line of jewelry that was sustainable and made vintage things look new again.
Leetie Lovendale jewelry is all made by hand, using vintage plastics harvested by the designer, from a warehouse that made findings & components between 1963 & 1982. Heather DeSimone, who at the time owned a bead store & wholesale bead company, moved over 40,000 lbs of plastic shapes & parts to her studio and storage space and has been creating retro-inspired jewelry, fit for today, ever since. From hand-dye'ing, to sculpting and at times melting & re-shaping, all of the pieces are sustainable, made with vintage, and made by the artisan in Arizona.
